Hey guys, sorry I haven't been here in a while, Excal and this site kinda blended together and two near-similar sites was too much for me. :S Anyway, as I outlined on Excal, in my quest to find some way of getting money while my stories fester, since my local McDonalds (barf) and supermarket won't hire me, I'm trying out making some Rifftrax. I'm pretty funny, so I'm going to try making some commentary. My first riff was for the 1976 Return of the Kung Fu Dragon. How will our heroes escape? What does Dr. Dark want with the mystical idol? And just who is this odd shape changer who lurks in the darkness? Find out on this exhilarating episode of Captain Quasar! John Carter -------- Captain Kent Quasar Toby Gard -----------------------------Paul Desmond Rudyard ------- Lady Elastica Hugh Thaxter --------- Dr. Lincoln Dark Movie outline: The superhero Starman is sent by the Emerald Planet to protect Earth from belligerent aliens from the Sapphire Galaxy. The Sapphireans (or "Spherions") kidnap Dr. Yamanaka and force him to use his spaceship against the Earth. Since the iRiff system is currently down, I'll have this thing up for free until it comes back up. When it comes back up, I'll replace the file with a vid just showing the first 15 minutes. If you guys like the old style, I'll do some more "episodes" outlining Spock's Brain and such. You can hear some bloopers here: I have Return of the Kung Fu Dragon and Attack From Space in the pipeline already, so here's some stuff that I actually have a semblance of a script for: -The Incredibles -Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (script is finished, needs dubbing) -Herculies in New York And a couple of other public domain sci fi movies, and maybe The Matrix. Also, I have a project I want to attempt by deconstructing the riffing process. When I get a digital camera, I want to film myself as a Bela Legosi type count figure, played as straight as able for California native ole' me, and watch Manos in front of a greenscreen. The goal is to invoke the feeling of a 30s and 40s universal horror movie, since I have inklings of the character going mad by just watching Manos. The charachter will channel the most frantic performances from Gene Wilder, Sideshow Bob, and either Bela Legosi, or Boris Karoloff, whoever works. Of course, this Manos presentation is in the very early planning stage, so don't expect it for a while. I am more than willing to accept suggestions and even donations, but what ties this down and actually makes me get to work, is the presence of a digital copy of the movie on my PC, ripped from a DVD or a PD download. I can't do it otherwise without blowing a gasket.
